The Department of Human Anatomy and Histology was initially established on August 24, 2016, by decision No. 01/02 of the Academic Council of Khatlon State Medical University. In response to changes in the academic curriculum and program requirements, the department was renamed to the Department of Human Morphology and Physiology on August 25, 2017 (Decision No. 01/01). Subsequently, on August 28, 2019, it was further restructured and officially renamed as the Department of Normal Anatomy, Topographic Anatomy and Practice, Latin (Decision No. 01/08).

During the 2018–2020 academic years, talented students of the department, including Komilova B.I., S., and Akhmedov B.T., actively participated in the annual conferences for young scientists and students at the Tajik State Medical University named after Abuali Ibn Sino and the Samarkand State Medical Institute. Their research contributions earned them prestigious 1st and 2nd degree diplomas.
Since its inception in 2016, the department has published over 90 scientific articles in both national and international medical journals and conferences. In addition to its academic and research initiatives, the department runs a scientific club, Young Anatomists, which currently has 40 active student members who are engaged in academic enrichment and scientific exploration in the field of human anatomy.
