The Department of Pathological Anatomy, Forensic Medicine, and Histology was established on August 28, 2019, by decision No. 01/04 of the Academic Council of Khatlon State Medical University.

Currently, the department is staffed by six dedicated assistants:
Between January 8 and February 2021, three faculty members completed advanced training courses. Additionally, from May to June 2021, two staff members participated in the “Fundamentals of Pedagogy” program to enhance their teaching competencies.
In the academic years 2020 and 2021, the department`s faculty published over 25 scientific papers in both national and international journals, including prestigious publications such as Health of Tajikistan and Simurgh.
To promote student research and academic engagement, the department also runs a scientific club titled Young Pathologists and Histologists, which is actively attended by students pursuing studies in pathology and related fields.
