The Department of Pharmacology and Microbiology was established on August 29, 2019, by decision No. 01/03 of the Academic Council of Khatlon State Medical University. The department is actively involved in delivering high-quality education in the following subjects: Pharmacology, Clinical Pharmacology, Valeology, Microbiology, Immunology, and Virology.

Between 2018 and 2021, the department’s academic staff published over 25 scientific articles in both national and international journals, including prestigious publications such as Biology and Medicine and Simurgh. Furthermore, the department has developed and published six methodological manuals on microbiology to support the academic curriculum.
The department also fosters student engagement through its scientific club, Young Pharmacologists, which provides students of the Pharmacology program opportunities to deepen their research and practical knowledge in the field.
